The Community Engagement Unit (CEU) of UC Irvine's ICTS provides student scholars, researchers and community organizations with a place to connect with, and engage each other, creating partnerships for clinical and translational research.
The CEU goal is to facilitate partnerships that will enhance the entire research process, including conception, design, conduct, analysis, interpretation, conclusions and communication of results in a way that will ultimately improve the healthcare in our region. We offer training workshops and individual mentoring in Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) to both community organizations and researchers, focusing on enhancing research perspectives, public trust, cultural sensitivity and successful community outreach.
The CEU also provides seed funding (Campus Community Research Incubator Awards) to foster collaborative research projects between university researchers and community partners.
