The UC Irvine Applied Physiology Human Performance Laboratory (HPL) has two sites. One HPL is centrally located at the UCIMC with easy access to MRI, CT scanning, and phlebotomy. The second HPL is located on the main campus at UC Irvine. The HPL is a unique resource that permits investigators to measure sophisticated metabolic and gas exchange responses to a variety of challenges, and muscle strength using advanced technology. The Laboratory provides researchers the opportunity to test the impact of novel therapies using state-of-the-art measurements of gas exchange, and metabolic indexes of health and disease.
