Available Immersion Mentors
Each placement in an industry setting will vary and be highly dependant on the industry partner and the student's experience. Currently we have one sponsor available. If you are interested in being placed in an industry immersion experience, apply to the program, indicate if you are interested in the current available position and indicate the type of placement you would like. The ICTS will work with you to identify a suitable placement, if none is available we will located an on campus experience that will suit your interests.

Company Overview: TRACON Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of novel targeted therapeutics for cancer, age-related macular degeneration (“AMD”) and fibrotic diseases. TRACON operates a clinical development model that emphasizes capital efficiency.
Their goal is to be a leader in the development of targeted therapies for patients with cancer and other diseases of high unmet need. Key components of this opportunity include: develop an understanding of strategies used to reduce time required for regulatory approval; develop an understanding of key strategies used to expand development programs in large and small markets; learn to work with key partners such as the National Cancer Institute for accelerating development of new drugs; learn about the licensing of drugs; learn about the regulatory environment decision-making in key drug development steps such as how to evaluate next steps such as selection of phase 1 and 2 sites, etc.; develop insight into the relationship between basic science discovery and commercialization; identify new ways to encourage idea exchange between industry and academia and between “front-line” health care providers and pharma.
