Center for Bio-Medical Informatics

Our Mission
The core mission of the Center for Bio-Medical Informatics (CBMI) is to provide powerful yet easy-to-use informatics resources, for all CTS&R researchers, by curating high-quality digital assets, establishing secure and versatile research computing environments, removing access barriers, and improving researcher competence in informatics and data science.

We emphasize data inclusiveness, head-on addressing the issue of data and algorithmic biases contributing to widening health inequity. We value instant shareability, ensuring our datasets conform to the Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reuse (FAIR) principles so they be readily consumed by other CTSA Hubs and the health sciences research communities more broadly.
About CMBI
Established in 2008 as an integral part of the original ICTS, our Center for Biomedical Informatics (CBMI) spearheads ICTS Hub’s effort in serving the informatics needs of the UCI CTS&R community and beyond.
