Assistant or Associate Professor, Translational Genomics and Bioinformatics OPEN
The Institute for Clinical and Translational Science at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Line (tenure track) series in an appropriate department in the School of Medicine. The position will be in the broad areas of human genomics and bioinformatics, as they apply to rare and common conditions. Special emphasis is placed on multi-omics applied to variant analysis and translational genomics, including diagnostic and other methodological applications, bioinformatics analytical pipelines, and genetic risk evaluation strategies.
Health Data Analyst, Center for Biomedical Informatics OPEN
Applications are invited for a Health Data Analyst position in the Center for Biomedical Informatics (CBMI) at
the University of California, Irvine (UCI). CBMI is a unit in the UCI Institute for Clinical and Translational Science
(ICTS) and the UCI Institute for Precision Health (IPH). CBMI’s mission is to provide and innovate informatics
solutions to facilitate clinical research, accelerate results translation, and engender the transformation of UCI
hospitals and clinics into a learning health system.
The incumbent for this full-time position must have a strong background in SQL, Epic Clarity, and controlled health vocabularies such as ICD, CPT, and SNOMED-CT. Prior experience with the Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) Common Data Model, Amazon Web Services, and FHIR® is desired, though not required. Prior experience working at an academic health center is strongly preferred.
The incumbent will work under the supervision of Dr. Kai Zheng, Professor of Informatics and Emergency Medicine and Director of CBMI. The main job location is the UCI campus in Irvine, California. However, the incumbent may work from remote.

ICTS Researcher 2025–2026 OPEN
Researcher Series positions are occasionally available throughout the year in the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science at the University of California, Irvine. A candidate for a title in this series must have earned a doctorate or its equivalent. These are typically grant-funded positions under the sponsorship of various faculty members (ICTS Website). The ideal candidate should be self-driven and motivated, with biomedical or translational research experience strongly preferred. Positions are dependent upon extramural funding. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Appointments are based on performance and availability of funding.
