UC Irvine Research Development Unit (RDU)
The RDU is a unit within the School of Medicine that assists students, trainees, fellows, and early-career faculty with research support services such as funding opportunities, grant submissions, pre- and post-award activities, private foundations, and clinical trials administration support. The RDU also provides funding opportunities for intramural research support.

NIH R01 Bootcamp
This annual grant writing workshop provides an in-depth overview to UC Irvine faculty members and career researchers (not graduate students or postdoctoral scholars) who have not yet served as a PI on an NIH R01 award but are looking to apply to the mechanism within one year. Participants receive specialized training and application guidance on their R01 application, with the goal of have a draft application by the time of program completion.

Physician-Scientist Training Program (PSTP)
This two-year structured program provides early-career faculty-level physician-scientists with intensive mentorship and training opportunities to help prepare them to apply for their first career development award (NIH K or equivalent). Enrollment is limited to those currently holding a junior faculty position (e.g., assistant professor) with an MD, DO, or MD/PhD. Through this program, at least 25% of the candidate’s full-time professional effort must be devoted to research activities.

Physician-Scientist Collective
A community of like-minded researchers dedicated to advancing scientific discovery and improving patient outcomes that aims to provide a platform for physician-scientists to come together, learn, collaborate, and advance their careers. Offered as a monthly seminar series, these sessions include visiting speakers who discuss their research and career paths and cover a variety of educational topics such as study design, tissue acquisition and analysis, mentorship, and grantsmanship.

Alpha Clinic Clinical Trials Investigator Training Program (ACCTITP)
The ACCTITP is a certificate course offered through the School of Medicine Office of Medical Education that aims to promote equitable delivery of advanced therapeutics by educating community physicians, advanced practice providers, and pharmacists on scientific progress in regenerative medicine. Priority is given to physicians interested in clinical research careers with an emphasis on the delivery of clinical trials in community settings (4-6 candidates selected each year).

Certificate in Clinical Research
The Clinical Research Certificate Program developed in partnership with the UC Irvine School of Medicine, is designed to prepare medical students, academics, physicians, industry and hospital-based researchers to conduct, implement and interpret clinical research at the intersection between basic science and clinical medicine. It is designed to bring diverse disciplines together to address the increasing gap between “bench” research and “bedside” application and from bedside application to improved healthcare quality.

Masters in Public Health
The distinctive mission of the Master of Science in Public Health is to prepare the next generation of researchers for global health and disease prevention around the world in order to advance global health research and reduce the burden of disease, especially in the worlds’ most vulnerable and risk associated populations. Graduates of the MS program will be prepared to contribute to the improvement of public health.

UC Learning
The UC Learning Center is a web-based learning management system used by the University of California (UC) to provide training and professional development opportunities to its faculty, staff, and students. It offers a wide range of courses, tutorials, and learning resources on topics such as compliance, safety, information security, leadership, and technology skills. The UC Learning Center allows people to search and enroll in courses, track their progress, and generate transcripts and certificates of completion. It also provides tools for supervisors to manage employee training and monitor compliance. The UC Learning Center is accessible through a web browser and can be accessed from any computer or mobile device.
