Serving as the Institutional Honest Broker of UCI Health responsible for retrieving patient care data for research reuse.
2) Curation of AI/Machine Learning (AI/ML)-ready Datasets
Curating high-quality, large-scale datasets and providing them as IRB-exempt, self-service resources.
3) Secure Research Computing
Creating HIPAA- or dbGaP2-compliant research computing enclaves for securely storing and analyzing health data.
4) Concierge Service
Providing one-on-one consultation and hands-on assistance in data retrieval, data analysis, and use of our computing resources.
5) Open Science
Supporting projects involving sharing of data with local, regional, or national disease registries, data collaboratives, and research consortia.
6) Data Governance
Leading the UCI Health Data Governance Committee that oversees university–industry collaborative projects involving UCI Health data.
7) Talent Development
Organizing researcher engagement and enrichment initiatives and participating in training activities in degree-granting informatics programs.
8) Research Software
Managing research systems such as OnCore, REDCap, and Freezerworks; developing new systems to support research and research administration.
9) Research and Innovation
Conducting original research in health informatics, clinical research informatics, and translational bioinformatics; applying for informatics-focused research grants.
10) Collaboration
Working with other CTSA Hubs to share experience and resources, and with our local partner institutions on joint efforts in informatics capacity building, research, and training and education.
