Joni Ricks-Oddie, PhD MPH Director
Joni Ricks-Oddie, PhD (UCLA, 2012) is the Director of the UCI Center for Statistical Consulting. Dr. Ricks-Oddie oversees general operations and strategic planning for the Center and its consulting activities. She facilitates connections between campus researchers in need of consulting services and the Statistics faculty with the expertise to assist them. Dr. Ricks-Oddie’s current affiliations also include the UC Irvine Institute for Clinical and Translational Science where she serves as the Director of the Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design (BERD) Unit.
Marissa Ericson, PhD; Principal Statistician
Marissa Ericson, PhD (USC 2011) is a Principal Statistician at BERD. With an extensive background in a wide range of psychophysiological biomarkers, clinical, behavioral, and psychosocial outcomes, Dr. Ericson provides statistical support for grants, manuscripts, and projects of all levels of data analytic complexity. From working with faculty and administrative staff to undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral level projects, Dr. Ericson enjoys assisting others with all aspects of study design and statistical support.
Jaylen Lee, PhD; Principal Statistician
Jaylen Lee is a statistician for the Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design unit for the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science at UCI. He completed his PhD in Statistics at UCI in 2022 where his thesis was in developing statistical methods to quantify functional connectivity between brain regions using fMRI data. His current research interest is in Bayesian methods for spatio-temporal data. Before coming to UCI, Jaylen spent a year as a high school math teacher in his home state of Virginia. He is passionate about diversity and inclusion in academia, serving as a mentor to UCI undergraduates from underrepresented backgrounds during his time as a graduate student. Jaylen is an avid NBA fan and enjoys all things Disney.
Thabat Dahdoul, MS; Principal Statistician
Thabat Dahdoul is a dedicated statistician with a passion for applying statistical methodologies to clinical trials and projects in biology and health sciences. She earned her Master’s degree in Statistics from UCI in 2021, where she honed her analytical skills and gained expertise in data analysis techniques. Thabat thrives on collaborative projects and enjoys working within teams. Outside of work, she finds solace in nature through hiking adventures and cherishes quality time with her family.
