Medical Student Research Program

Pediatric Resident Research Award Program

Goal: To provide UCI medical students the opportunity to develop insight and understanding of translational biomedical research.

Program Essentials

  • The student designs and successfully completes a hypothesis-driven research Scholarly Project.
  • Students work closely with mentors and the UCI Institute of Clinical and Translational Science (ICTS) office throughout the four years of their project. Through this process students learn about medical information literacy, lifelong learning, teamwork, effective communication, research methods, evidence-based medicine approaches and ethics related to scholarly inquiry.

Goal: To provide UCI-CHOC Pediatric residents the opportunity to develop insight and understanding of research through completion of a mentored research project over the 3 years of residency.

Clinical Informatics Fellowship Program

This two-year Clinical Informatics Fellowship program received ACGME accreditation in 2017, making UCI one of the 27 institutions that offer clinical informatics fellowship training. CBMI provides research seminars and research rotation opportunities for the fellows.
