Virtual Workshop on TriNetX: A Global Patient Cohort Discovery Tool

The UCI Office of Research Information (ORI), a key component of the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science and the Institute for Precision Health, is pleased to hold a Health Data Science Workshop on TriNetX, a newly implemented informatics platform at UCI to facilitate data-driven health science research. Through the platform, investigators can construct patient cohorts using desired inclusion and exclusion criteria based on the clinical data of UCI Health, or data made available through TriNetX’s global research network of 90+ participating institutions. With proper approvals, you may also request de-identified patient-level data for the research cohort of interest.

Newkirk Faculty Fellow Lecture Series: Sanghyuk Shin, PhD

Sanghyuk Shin, PhD is in infectious disease epidemiologist with background and expertise in genomic epidemiology and public health. My research involves the integration of infectious disease genomic data with traditional epidemiological data to understand how infectious diseases spread. My current research includes NIH-funded research projects of the spread of tuberculosis and SARS-CoV-2 in populations affected by HIV. I am also the PI of an NIH Administrative Supplement to explore bio-ethical issues related to the rollout of tuberculosis genomic sequencing technology in Botswana.
