UCI Center for Aging Research in Down Syndrome (CFAR-DS) Seminar Series André Strydom, MRCPsych, MSc, PhD is a Professor in Intellectual Disabilities at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King’s College London, where his research is focused on mental disorders in adults with neurodevelopmental conditions, including Down syndrome. Professor Strydom is particularly interested in aging-related conditions such as dementia in adults with Intellectual Disability and Down syndrome. He was the chief investigator of the LonDownS consortium, a collaboration on various aspects of Alzheimer’s disease in Down syndrome. One of the important aims of ongoing work is to deliver the knowledge, tools and expertise that is necessary to enable clinical trials of treatment to prevent or delay the onset of dementia in individuals with Down syndrome. |

CHOC Research Education: Qualitative Data Analysis with Rachel Carmen Ceasar, PhD – Part 2 Dr. Rachel Ceasar is a qualitative research consultant with the Biostatistics Epidemiology and Research Design (BERD) team at The USC SC CTSI. In this role, Rachel supports faculty and junior investigators with studies and grants involving qualitative research, including focus groups, one-on-one interviews, quality-of-life work, and mixed methods. |

2023 Premiere Clinical Psychopharmacology Conference The UCI School of Medicine Premiere Clinical Psychopharmacology Conference provides an updated and targeted approach to the treatment of common psychiatric disorders related to mood, anxiety, psychosis, dementia, insomnia, and others. This course provides valuable and evidence-based updates for psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, as well as advanced topic learning for primary care providers who wish to improve their knowledge with the use of psychotropic medication management in the busy primary care setting. Students and psychiatry residents are welcome to attend and participate in specially designed “Resident Corner” sessions. |
